Full Lace Wig: Hot Season Hair

So I wanted to stop by with the long awaited review on my full lace wig that I purchased from Aliexpress vendor, Hot Season Hair. I had to take a while to start posting more so at the request of the vendor. Now that I have all of the “right” components, I’m ready to give you guys the info on this hair.

I had the wig colored professionally to a two toned brown/ blonde combo. 

We added 1 1/2 bundles of 18 and 20 inch Mongolian kinky Curly to the wig for fullness. 

Initial review: 

My boyfriend ordered the hair on Wednesday night in September. I received a call from the merchant , Anna, that same night. She wanted to verify my order before she fully processed it. That’s when I found out that my boyfriend had accidentally ordered the wrong type of wig. I messaged Anna and she fixed it at a discounted rate. I took 48 hours for the hair to get processed and shipped. I received the wig the following Thursday.  It arrived via DHL. It came wrapped in your standard DHL packaging but the wig it self was inside of plastic placed in a box. I appreciated that. The seller also provided a gold braclet as an added gift. 

The hair did not have the infamous corn chip smell. 

   
    

Coloring the hair:

So if your familiar with my blog and reviews, then you know that Kameshia Norris Jackson is my hair stylist. I decided to let her color my wig prior to the install. When she colored the hair the color took but not as well or as fast as any of the other hair that we’ve used in the past. The hair also shedded and tangled due to the bleach that was added to obtain the color. It also stretched the curls. Because I had ordered 150 density, it helped with keeping the wig to not look as thin. 

Install

I have the wig sewn down on one side and glued/taped on the other. I have glue on the side that I have my side cut on. 

   
 
Products used on this hair

I use a spray bottle of water/conditioner ( The Family Dollar Store Version of Hello Hydration by Herbal Essence) and  a curl spray product called Kenra. It’s holding setting is 8. This product was recommended to me by my hair stylist. To detangle the hair I use my ConAir paddle brush and/or my Modessa wide tooth comb.  I tried Pantene’s natural’s line on the hair but I did not like how it left the hair feeling.  

   
I ended up contacting Anna to let her know about how much hair was lost from the wig after coloring it and that I wanted to purchase bundles to bring fullness back to the wig. She sold me the hair at a discounted rate for my troubles.  The next few pics will show you how much of a difference was made after adding the bundles

   
   
Pros and Cons

Would I recommend this hair:

So far I will say yes. Now with that being said I only say yes under these circumstances. First if you are a low maintenance, get up and go type girl like myself this wig would be the wig that you want to NOT get sewn down on your head. You would need to take advantage of the combs and adjustable straps. This hair is VERY high maintenance as most kinky curly hair is. It will shed and it does tangle at the nape area. If you don’t Detangle  the hair fast enough it will matt. I have not ran into any problems dematting  or detangling the hair. 

If you have the time to two strand twist your hair before bed and style it daily  then this hair is perfect to sew down on your head.  Overall I would recommend this hair.  If you run into any problems, Anna is always willing to help.  Their customer service is on point!

First Wash and Useful Products

Hey guys! I wanted to stop by with an update on this hair that I am currently wearing from the companies Carina Hair Co and Worlds Best Hair. Links to my initial review and one week update will be linked below. 

Yesterday I went for my first wash on my hair since the install. Because I’m natural, I only let my stylist wash my sew ins. The Carina Hair Co hair returned to its wavy state after its first wash. The World’s Best Hair hair had a wave pattern but it wasn’t a prominent as before.  Both companies’ hair are still shedding minimally and I am getting no matting what so ever. The tangling is manageable. It’s nothing that a paddle brush won’t get rid of. 

The products that are used to maintain this hair are:

Yesterday was my birthday!!! I turned 29 years old! I work a full time job along side being a blogger and a home based business owner. I was really drained and I wasn’t going to do anything for my birthday. I finally realized that I was born on the best holiday ever, so the least I could do was partake in some of the festivities. 

I wanted to rock something that I haven’t worn In any ootd but still be comfortable. 

So what did you guys do for Cinco De Mayo? Not only did I eat some wonderful Mexican dishes, I went shopping! I have a birthday haul coming soon!!!!

First Look and Initial Review: World’s Best Hair +Carina Hair Peruvian Body Wave

Hey guys! I’m back with new hair from two different Aliexpress vendors, Carina Hair and Worlds Best Hair! Because I’m wearing both companies’ hair in the same install, I decided to review them in the same post. 

Specs: 

I purchased 4 bundles and a closure.

I only used three bundles and the closure in my two part vixen with a closure

Carina Hair: 18 inch closure and 20 inch bundle in 613 for 82.55 (together) 

Worlds Best Hair: 22,24,26  1b bundle deal 105.00

The hair is a Peruvian body wave texture

The Carina Hair has been dyed a grey and blue ombre

Total Cost: 187.00

Why did I order from two different vendors? 

I decided to go with a grey and blue ombre for the closure and top bundle. To achieve this look along with leaving my natural hair out, I needed to purchase a 613 with black roots. None of the companies I looked at offered all 1b bundles and the 613 bundles, it was either or. I came across a company called Carina Hair company. This company offered the lowest price for the 20 inch bundle and 18 inch closure. I did not see many reviews on the hair but I did come across one from a YouTube Guru by the name of rinaTHEchristina.

Worlds Best hair had a 50% off sale. That’s my reason from purchasing from them. I found two reviews on the hair, after I purchased. I decided with the price that I would pay for three bundles in 22, 24 and 26, why not!

The shipping on the World’s best hair was excellent. I order from both vendors on a Tuesday. I received the hair from World’s Best Hair the following Monday via DHL. Carina Hair, well that’s a different story! I received the hair via USPS two weeks later. I was a little upset but in order to receive free shipping on the product I had to get it via EMS. Then it had to be shipped to the USPS so patience was the key! Also they included a free pair of eyelashes!  

Side note: You can contact the Vendor or select fed ex packaging for faster shipping with Carina Hair! My packaging was not like the picture on Carina Hair’s Aliexpress page but that’s no big deal to me.

Upon receiving the hair I did open the package to check for the  infamous corn chip smell. It passed for both companies! Now the closure smelled burnt. I do not know why but every closure that I’ve purchased via Aliexpress has that same smell. It goes away with a good co wash but man does it stink!  The World’s Best hair looked really thin inside the packaging and before your install. Once it’s on your dome cap or sewn in it begins to look thicker. The Carina hair looked thick in both the packaging and during the install.

This pic is from my first day of the install. I did experience shedding from the Worlds Best Hair hair while flexi roding  before bed. I experience none from the Carina Hair hair, yet. So far no tangling or matting from either hair brands. The Carina Hair hair took the dye very well! Both of the hair straightens  very well. I will check to see if the curl pattern returned after my first wash. 

The process was completed by my hair stylist Kameshia Norris- Jackson of Lalia’s Hair Salon in Anderson, SC owned by stylist Kalisha Lindsey. 

The hair is installed as a two part vixen sew in with a closure. I only have three of the four bundles installed but please remember two facts if you decide to purchase, I have a side cut on almost 1/2 of my head and I have tiny head. I would still suggest to order four bundles total when dealing with lengths past 20 inches.

I wore the hair for four months in a two and three part sew in. My stylist on sewed in the 14,18 and 20 inches.  Let’s jump into the pros and cons! 

Pros: The hair take color well and will get bone straight. 

The Cons:

The shedding wasn’t that bad. I had minimal shedding from the longest bundles and no shedding from the 14 inch that was  bleached and dyed.  The biggest problem that I had with the hair was the tangling. My 20 inch tangled so much that I believe it ended up becoming an 18 inch.  Also the hair would not hold a curl at all and after straightening the hair it did not return to its kinky state. 

Would I recommend the hair? 

Well I will say that if you wish to purchase this hair make your longest length 18. Also if you wish to keep the hair at it’s kinky state then do not add any heat to the hair. As I stated in my previous post, I have the 16 inch bundle and I will make clip ins out of this hair. I will have a review up on that as well. At this moment I would have to say I will not repurchase hair from this company. I ended up having to trash the hair from the sew in.

Mongolian Kinky Straight Review!

I know that you guys have been waiting on this, So I am finally here!!! Let’s jump right into it!

Order and Delivery

I ordered the hair on a Saturday and received it the following Wednesday. The timing of delivery was fast. I received the hair via Fed Ex. The packaging wasn’t extraordinary. In fact, there was no invoice nor typical thank you note. I was a little hurt, lolx. The picture below will show how the company decided to package their product.

Now I will admit, the seller sealed the package with a hard to tear label. It stated that I was VIP and to handle my hair with care. I have no words for this.

The Bundles

The hair had a smell but it didn’t smell like corn chips. It didn’t smell good nor did it smell like beauty supply store hair. It just smelled. I can’t describe that smell. It went away after my stylist co washed it.

I did not co wash this hair. I had to take it to my hair stylist ,Kameshia Jackson of Laila’s Hair Salon,for the color that I wanted. Now if you are familiar with my Virgin Hair Horror Story, then you guys know Kameshia. She’s a great stylist and out of 23 years of dealing with hair salons as a customer, she’s the only one I like.
Anyways, the product she used on the extensions for co wash was the Wen conditioner. I have heard good things about this line for your hair. Never did it dawn on me to try it on my weaves.

My install and color

My stylist only installed three bundles. I could only fit those on my pea size head, lolx. I have a three part sew in, meaning I can flip my hair to either side, wear it half up/half down or all up. I’ve worn all of these styles with the exception of the “reverse flip”. I have my side cut design currently so I want to show it off!

I decided I wanted to go for a pop (Not to be mistaken with POP hold it down) of color. I wanted to do something that NO ONE in my area was bold enough to do. I had Kameshia ombré the 14 inch bundle gray. I can do a separate post on how she achieved the color, if you guys would love to hear about it.

Does the hair shed?

Yes, barely. Ok I’m sorry I had to do it. Seriously, yes the hair sheds. It’s nothing that anyone will notice. It does tangle but only at the end of the 20 inch. I’ve noticed this twice in a two week period. The gray area hasn’t shed since my initial install. For the wefts to be cut and the hair to be bleached on the 14 inch, I think the shed rate is awesome! Overall I give this hair a 7 for shedding.

Does the hair return back to its Kinky State after heat?

I can not say it this moment. I want to let my stylist wash my install before I speak on that. It’s in a straight style. I will speak on this in my one month update.

How I feel about the hair.

I like it but I’m tired of wearing it straight. I would love for the hair to be more textured. I’m natural. I have a lot of my hair out, so as my hair starts to slowly transition back to its poofy state , I need for the weave to do the same. I hate heat on my natural hair.

TD Hair Review: First Look +First Week

Anyways I wanted to stop by here with an update on my TD Hair! My first impression and my first week review will be the topic of discussion. Let’s jump in.

First Impression.
I ordered the hair on a Thursday and received it the following Monday. It took 24 for Aliexpress to verify my card. Once they had that squared away, my package was shipped via DHL. I liked that the package required a signature upon receipt.

I ordered a 18,20,22 and 24. Also included in the bundle deal was a 16 inch closure. The hair is the Brazilian Body Wave.

When I opened the package, I did the following things, the shed test, smelled the hair and made sure the bundles were somewhat true to length.

The hair measured out to be the exact length as stated. The hair did shed a little but not too bad. I got two strands out of all of the bundles to together and two from the closure itself. The smell of the bundles were good but the closure smelled horrible. I did not alert Mr. Lee, the owner of TD Hair, about this matter because I wanted to co wash the hair first. The smell has gone away now. I noticed that the knots were pre-bleached and some of the bleach was on the roots of the closure. It was no big deal to me because you can not see it. Also it lets me know that the hair will bleach with no problem. The ends on the hair were not too thin or unhealthy looking.

Co-Washing

After co washing, I noticed two things. The longer bundles lost a little bit of its wave( the 22 and 24) and that there was no residue in the water during the wash. By residue, I mean the infamous “black dye” that comes off of fake “virgin” hair when you wash it. Also the closure had a really deep wave pattern after it dried. It seemed the shorter the length, the more defined the wave pattern is. I plan on wearing this hair straight but if you guys want to know if the natural wave comes back I will add that to the checklist!

Installation and First Week Review

I decided to try my hand at making a U part wig with a closure and side cut. There are no tutorials on YouTube on how to do this so it has been trial and error for me. The first time I made the wig, I could not fit all four bundles on to the cap. So I had two bundles and a closure on the first cap. The next go round I doubled my 20 and 22 to fit all but a good bit of the 18 on to the cap. The bundles are full. I will be remaking this wig again for a third time. I currently feel like I want to try a different cap this time.

The hair is holding up great. I cut my 18 inch weft and I am not experiencing any extra shedding. The hair tangles but it’s not to the point that the brush will not remove it. I have it sewn down in the front and side. (I ran out of thread, lolx) I am sleeping in the hair. I braid it and throw a satin bonnet on it. Which reminds me it’s time for a new bonnet. I’ve had this thing since 97.

I few things that I have learned from this experience.

Well a lot of you know that I am not a professional but I’m willing to learn almost anything. I now know to only buy my curved needles at the beauty supply store. Although the ones in my needle kit got the job done a lot faster, I almost bled to death from poking myself.

The next thing that I learned was to put your side cut on the opposite side of the foam head. I had to start all over the first time after finishing the 24 inch bundle.

Don’t try to make a wig after a 12 hour shift.

Once I perfect my Side Cut u-part wig, I will do a tutorial on it. ( If it’s requested) I have pictures below of the hair! If you guys have any questions or feel that I left out anything please let me know. I will be back with another update very soon!!!
