I’ve been in all day writing and trying to network. I normally listen to music while I work and today was no different. One of my favorite songs came on by Rene and Angela, “My First Love.” I love that song because it’s so true. Although it talks about “first love”, I think that true love is the basis of the song. Because you are my husband, you are my one and only love and time will never change it, come sun or rain!

Dear Future Husband,

Hey! How are you today? I hope that everything is going great for you. If not, then I hope that by the end of this letter you will be smiling from ear to ear. I am all behind on the letter writing campaign! I should be on letter 22, I think. I have had so much going on in my life that my motivation to write has been going downhill. Especially when it came to writing these letters.

Three years ago I went through one of the most horrific breakups of my dating history. I had decided to date my best friend at the time. It felt so right. Nobody’s perfect but he was perfect for me. It was like getting me wrapped in a male package.  Timing could have never been so wrong. We both were not mature enough to stick by each other’s side. His leaving me affected me more than I ever could imagine. I didn’t just lose a boyfriend, I lost a family member. I lost a big chunk of myself.  So what does this guy have to do with anything? Well dealing with this along with other factors of my life gets me down sometimes. I just want to lay down and give in to defeat. I can’t and I won’t.

I want you to know that no matter how hard life gets, never give up on the things that and people who you love with your all. No matter how hard things may get, I will never give in nor will I give up on you.

I wanted to include Patti LaBelle‘s 90’s hit “Somebody Loves You Baby” because this song brings a smile to my face.  I think maybe  I always smile when I hear it because it reminds me of that time my friend Amy and I prank called people playing this song in the background, lolx. One of my favorite songs comes from the 1980’s breakout artist Sade from her album “Stronger Than Pride“. The song is called “Love Is Stronger Than Pride.” Listening to this song as a child, a teenager and early into my adulthood, I never really paid attention to the words. I just knew that Sade had this backup singer that made that song hot! I listened to the song in 2011 one night when it randomly came on Pandora and the words hit me like a ton of bricks. So I had to stop by and ask the question is love stronger than pride?

There’s a part in the song that says ” I can’t hate you, although I have tried!” I think that when the love is true, no matter how hard you try to forget that person or the world tells you that you’re a fool for still being in love with that person, you can’t run from your heart. Lying to yourself, replacing the one you love with someone else only works for so long.  Trust me, I know, lolx/

I want to be one of those wives that automatically have that nice hot bath ran to relax you when you’re tense.  I’m one heck of a masuse, so I would love to put that to use at the right times!  I want to be the wife that is forgiving and understanding. I want to be a patient wife. I want to be an encouraing  wife that helps you reach your goals and pushes you to continue to dream. I want to be your best friend. I hate sports but hey I will watch them with you.  I want to be one of those wives that you know has your back at all times. Overall I just want to be a good wife that makes a few mistakes along the way but never fails to show you how much I love you!
